Hello, you wanted to bring the debate to newgrounds, so here I am!

No actually, you brought up a point on Karco's page that bothers me. ;) But I do enjoy good debates though :)

Mainly the point where you try to insist where you have to be a good audio musician to leave valid criticisms. That should not matter at all, criticism is criticism. Criticism is based on opinions and those opinions can be based on your knowledge. Knowledge is teachable and learnable. Creativity is not. I've read lots of books and countless material on music. I've taken school and private lessons regarding music, and have devoted a lot of time and money to learning, about music. Because of this, I have a good background and knowledge of music for the amount of time I've been studying it for. And when it comes to reviewing on NG, although I havent done it seriously on my new account, I have been told and would have to agree I'm pretty good at it. But my song making abilities? Average. You could give me all the advice and techniques in the world, but with out having something to say, and lacking creativity, those tools are worthless in the sense of your own productions. Therefore, you dont need to make good music or even make music at all to give good advice.

(But commonly, there is some kind of correlation.)

Also, it works both ways. I've seen people here make awesome songs, but they leave shit reviews (whether it's a lack of knowledge, or just laziness, beats me). There's several musicians who compose orchestral and symphonic works, but can they explain how their awesome melodies and harmonies work through theoretical terms? No!

I've posted harsh reviews on an alt account, with no music, and few of the people that saw these reviews would get offended- their only defense "you shouldnt be talking you have no music!"

Your review towards Karco's track comes off exactly like a hot-headed, defensive fan. Maybe in your true opinion he deserves a 2/10, and if thats your true opinion and not just revenge, then your rating of 2/10 is completely valid. Otherwise, not only does it exemplify bitterness on your part, but childishness.

Both your reviews were abusive. Karco's review was abusive because he said the song didn't belong in the Top 5 (against the NG reviewing rules), not because he was "rude" (angry, is a better word to describe Karco here). It's his opinion that it shouldn't make the top 5, but it doesn't negate other people's opinions who voted the track up there. I think you know how you're review was abusive, you just flamed him back because you didn't like seeing him give a 4 on AndreaDigita's song.

People can express their opinions in many ways. Whether or not he's an asshole, or sugercoats his words, is up to the reviewer's style, and you and I cannot tell what tone a reviewer has to set their writing in.

What I do know is, is that Karco gives tremondously helpful reviews (although, he could have done a better job on "Candy Dance"), that point out the flaws, and furthermore hand out solutions, and he gets grief for it? Keep racking in those nines and tens from fanboys that are just one liners expressing how they creamed their pants, offering no advice at all. They dont even prove that the reviewer listened to the song in entirety. People are so ungrateful!

Also, Karco > Tiesto ;) But of course, that's just my opinion, and you can't go any further than that when we're just comparing for listening for pleasure qualities (what else?).

Hello,

Well, I think that you didn't understand my point of view at all. I thought that all was clear after my comment on Karco's news, but now I see that it isn't ass clear as I thought.

The point I was trying to insist is that critiques have to be made in a polite way. You don't have to be a good musician to leave valid critics, and I never said that. The comparison with Tiesto came because it seemed that Karco's review of Candy Dance was made with envy and lack of humility (but he explained that was only angry) and I wanted to point out that, maybe, a man that was named Best Dj in the World for 2 or 3 years, like Tiesto was, can be unpolite in a comment, and you can acept that. But for general norm, I think that a review has to be made in a polite way. Can be hard, but not unpolite.

That was what I criticized from Karco (his rude & unpolite revew to Candy Dance) by making myself a rude review of one of his songs, and then explaining all in a comment his 'news post'.

So I'm not an Andrea's angry fan, and there's no dark conspiracies behind my review of Karco's track.

I hope that everything has been clarified now :)

Karco > Tiesto? In my opinion no, but your's is very respectable

(Note: Tiesto has been named this year, by Dj Mag, World second's best dj, just behind Armin Van Buuren)
